Abstract: Objective To compare the effects of high quality nursing and routine nursing for cataract patients after phacoemulsification. Methods Used a prospective study, From August, 2013 to February, 2016, 150 cataract patients undergoing phacoemulsification in our hospital were selected and randomly equally divided into observation group and control group with 75 patients in each group accorded to the envelope principles. The control group was given routine nursing, while the observation group was given high quality nursing. The nursing observation was conducted in the two groups for 1 month, and the compliance, satisfaction, changes in visual acuity and complications were recorded. Results During the period of nursing, the compliance of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05). The postoperative 1 month best corrected visual acuity in the observation group and the control group were 0.87±0.08 and 0.67±0.13 that were significantly higher than that of postoperative 1d of 0.14±0.09 and 0.15±0.11(P<0.05), the postoperative 1 month best corrected visual acuity in the observation group was also significantly better than the control group(P<0.05). The corneal edema, secondary glaucoma anterior chamber exudation, intraocular infection and complication rate in observation group during the nursing was 8.0%, so that was 30.7% in the control group, the observation group was significantly less than the control group(P<0.05). The nursing satisfaction scores in the observation group and control group were (92.25±5.66) points and (84.69±5.96) points, the observation group of nursing satisfaction was significantly higher than that of the control group(t=7.966, P<0.05). Conclusion Compares with routine nursing, phacoemulsification after application of high quality nursing care can improve patient compliance, reduce complications, improve the best corrected visual acuity, which will be helpful to improve the relationship between nurses and patients.
