Abstract: Transient synovitis of the hip in children(TSH) is common and frequently occurring diseases in children. It is the most common cause of hip pain and claudication in children. At present,there is no consensus on the cause of the disease at home and abroad,there is also no uniform standard of treatment. Western medicine believes that the cause of this disease is related to many factors such as bacterial or viral infection, hip joint trauma, fatigue and allergy reaction, the commonly used treatment methods are antibiotics or antiviral drugs, skin traction, physical therapy,etc. For patients to whom conservative treatment is in effective, arthroscopic surgery can be used. The clinical efficacy of the above treatment methods is worthy of affirmation, but the negative problems such as drug toxicity, side effects and surgical risks are gradually receiving the attention of scholars. Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) believes that the cause of this disease lies in the deficiency of healthy atmosphere of children, feeling external injuries influences,Bi-syndrome occurs in the hip. It belongs to the category of "Bi-syndrome" in TCM. TCM has a variety of methods for treating this disease, such as internal, external administration(Traditional Chinese medicine fumigation, Plaster topical, Ointment inunction, etc) or the combination of them. The author has checked and summarized the relevant valuable literature in recent years, the conclusion of the study suggests that TCM mainly treats children's hip synovitis with remarkable effect, safety and simplicity, and has unique advantages in treatment methods and curative effects. This article summarized from the etiology, pathogenesis and diagnosis of children's hip synovitis, the main treatment of TCM internal treatment, the treatment of TCM external treatment, the main aspects of traditional Chinese medicine, internal and external treatment in order to provide reference for clinical treatment.
