Abstract: Objective To observe and explore the clinical value of expanded random-pattern flaps in the treatment of face and neck burn scar,and provide the basis for selection of treatment plan. Methods All 80 patients with face and neck burns scar between April 2008 and February 2015 in our hospital were selected and randomly divided into observation group and control group with 40 cases in each group according to random number method.All patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected,and the general information of two groups were comparable.The observation group received the expanded random-pattern flap surgery,while the control group received a simple adjacent skin flaps surgery.One month after the operation,the improvement of itching and pain at repaired site as well as postoperative complications were compared. Results All flaps survived well,healed well;the efficiency for improving the itching and pain symptoms in the observation group was 90.0%(36/40) and 92.5%(37/40),while in the control group was 77.5%(31/40) and 75.0%(30/40),the difference was statistically significant (χ²=4.296/4.500,P＜0.05);the complications occurred in 5 cases in the observation group with a rate of 12.5%,the difference was not statistically significant (χ²=0.774,P＞0.05). Conclusion The adjacent skin near the scars near the site is suitable for the expanded random-pattern flaps in the treatment of face and neck burn scar.The treatment can achieve the desired effect,and does not affect the safety of flap.It is worth spreading in clinical practice.
