Objective To investigate the influences of
Runfei Pingchuan Prescription combined with salbutamol on short-term efficacy, the level of serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and tidal volume per kilogram of body weight of children with bronchial asthma.
Methods Total 112 children with bronchial asthma received in Wenzhou Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital from June 2017 to February 2019 were divided into two groups according to the random number table method. The control group(56 cases) were treated with salbutamol, while the study group(56 cases) were treated with
Runfei Pingchuan Prescription combined with salbutamol. The short-term efficacy was evaluated, and the disappearance time of symptoms was recorded. The levels of serum VEGF, C-reactive protein(CRP) and interleukin-10(IL-10) were measured. The tidal breathing parameters and incidence of adverse reactions were compared.
Results The total effective rate of the control group was significantly(76.79%) lower than that of the study group(94.64%,
P<0.05). The disappearance times of wheezing, pulmonary wheezing, chest tightness and cough in the control group were significantly longer than those in the study group(
t=10.333, 9.488, 10.784, 5.917, all
P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of serum VEGF and CRP in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group(
t=15.753, 7.213, all
P<0.05), and the serum IL-10 level was significantly higher than that in the control group(
t=4.763,
P<0.05). The respiratory rate of the study group was significantly lower than that of the control group(
t=3.638,
P<0.05). The tidal volume, peak time ratio, and peak volume ratio per kilogram of body weight were significantly higher than those of the control group(
t=4.496, 4.005, 5.257, all
P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was 3.57%, which was significantly lower than that in the control group 16.07%(
P<0.05).
Conclusion On the basis of salbutamol treatment,
Runfei Pingchuan Prescription can not only disperse lung Qi and relieve cough but also resolve sputum and relieve asthma. It can eliminate clinical symptoms in children with bronchial asthma in a short time, improve levels of serum VEGF, CRP and IL-10, make tidal breathing pulmonary function normal, and have higher security.
