  • Objective To study the main mechanism of cold and wet lumbar disc herniation and TCM syndrome differentiation, and choose a therapeutic effect suitable for the analgesic effect of fire dragon moxibustion. Methods Seventy-two patients with cold and wet lumbar disc herniation who met the inclusion criteria and received fire dragon moxibustion at the Third Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January to June 2019 were selected and divided into three groups according to the completely random method, each group has 24 cases, for 30 min, 40 min and 50 min treatment group, respectively. After 4 weeks of continuous treatment and follow-up for 3 months, the visual analog scoring(VAS) and the modified Japan Orthopaedic Association lower back pain score(M-Joint Operation Agreement, M-JOA) were used to compare the three groups Pain relief, improvement of symptoms and clinical treatment effect. Results VAS score was lower than before treatment after treatment in three groups(all P<0.05), the VAS score of 40 min group was significantly lower than the other two groups in 4 weeks and 3 months of follow-up(all P<0.001). After treatment, the M-JOA score was higher than that before treating(all P<0.05), the score of M-JOA of 40 min group was significantly higher than that of the other two groups in all time points(all P<0.05). The clinical efficiency of 40 min treatment group was significantly higher than that of the other two groups(all P<0.05). Conclusion When using fire dragon moxibustion to treat cold and wet lumbar disc herniation, 40 min treatment can effectively relieve the patient's symptoms, improve the clinical effect. The long-term effect is significant, and it is not easy to relapse.
