    Abstract
  • In the spring of 2022, a pandemic outbreak of the Omicron variant of SARS-CoV-2 occurred in Shanghai. The vaccination rate is low among elderly patients with various chronic underlying diseases, making them susceptible and prone to critical illnesses. Therefore, the treatment of elderly patients has become one of the difficulties in the clinical management of coronavirus disease 2019. This paper reported a case of a super-elderly patient diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 complicated with acute heart failure, whose disease progressed from mild to severe. We analysed the reliable aetiology and clinical features of the case and shared the gains and losses in the treatment of elderly patients with severe coronavirus disease 2019 in a primary care hospital. We planned to provide an important experience for the treatment of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 combined with cardiovascular complications.
