Objective To investigate the current situation and management of health care among the floating population in Shanghai city.
Methods Thedata materials from “the national survey of population dynamic monitoring of health and family planning in 2014” in Shanghai city were cited. Total 7 999 floating population (4 108 males and 3 891 females,aged 15 to 59 years old,non-permanent address residents of Shanghai but lived more than three months in Shanghai) were enrolled into this study.The current situation of health insurance was statistically analyzed. The related internal factors were assessed.
Results The types of medical insurance for floating population were relatively concentrated. The differences in rate of participation innew rural cooperative medical service were not different among the people from the different domicile. The general status of participation in medical insurance was different among the floating population with different demographic characteristics.
Conclusion The basic medical insurance for urban workers engaged in the floating population of agriculture,forestry,animal husbandry and fishery industry should be paid attentions.At the same time,the coverage rate of industrial injury insurance for the floating population in higher risk occupations such as the production / transportation (including the construction industry) should be further improved.The complete control of the current situation of the floating population health will help them improve the level of health protection,and ultimately achieve the goal of improving the health and quality of life of floating population.
