Objective To investigate the changes of serum lipids and risk factors in primary Sjogren’s syndrome(pSS).
Methods By retrospective analysis,weinvestigated 81 primary Sjogren’s syndrome patients who accepted the first treatment in our hospital and 78 healthy controls.The level of serum triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-c),low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-c),immunoglobulin(Ig),erythrocyte sedimentationrate(ESR) and C-reaction protein(CRP) were determined.pSS patients were divided into hyperlipidaemia group and non-hyperlipidaemiagroup,Comparison of these data between groups was analyzed by SPSS 18.0.The corrections between variables were also analyzed.
Results There was no significant difference in serum TC,TG,HDL-c,LDL-c,and blood glucose between PSS patients and normal controls(
P>0.05).In dyslipidemia group of pSS patients,the positive rates of ANA,RF,and hypergammaglobulinemia were 69.35%,40.74%,23.46%,which was compared with a normal blood lipid group in pSS,there was no statistically significant difference(
P>0.05).The rate of elevated serum lipid in PSS was 76.54%.Spearman’s correlation test demonstrated that HDL-c levels correlated negatively with ESR of pSS(
r=-0.37,
P=0.03).There was no significantly correlated between ESR and TC,TG,LDL-c(
P>0.05).The levels of serum CRP was not significantly correlated with TG、TC、HDL-c and LDL-c(
P>0.05).
Conclusion The incidence of dyslipidemia in pSS patients is 76.54%,which are associated with higher levels of ESR,suggesting a high risk of cardiovascular disease.
