Objective To investigate the expression of vimentin(VIM) and Ki-67 protein in patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma(CSCC),and its relationship with the clinical and pathological features,and analyze the correlation between the expression of Vimentin and Ki-67 in cervical carcinoma.
Methods The expression of Vimentin and Ki-67 in 57 cases of CSCC tissue was detected by using immunohistochemical S-P method.The data was statistically analyzed combined with the clinicopathologic materials.
Results In 57 cases of CSCC,the positive rates of cervical Vimentin were 75.4%(43/57),the average score statistics for (2.41±1.52);the positive rates of cervical Ki-67 were 100%,the average score statistics for(4.48±1.59);the positive rate of Ki-67 in cervical carcinoma was 100.0%,higher than Vimentin (75.4%)(χ
2=15.960,
P<0.01).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the expression of Vimentin and CSCC in Ki-67 tissues was significantly positively correlated(
r=0.984,
P=0.00).Ki-67 and Vimentin expression were closely related to the patients’ local invasion,lymph node metastasis and tumor differentiation(
P=0.003,0.000,0.017;
P=0.001,0.003,0.008),but not with age,tumor size and stage(
P>0.05).
Conclusion Ki-67 in cervical squamous cell carcinoma tissues has high expression,the expressions of Ki-67 and Vimentin are closely correlate with invasion,metastasis and differentiated degree.This result has important significance for thetreatment of cervical cancer.
