The enlightenment of general practice training in Royal College of general practitioners

With the development of society,the demand of people for medical care has been increasing,and the general practitioner(GP) is becoming more and more popular.The Britain is one of the earliest countries that have the general practice care system.After years developed,Britain has a complete National Health Service system;flexible,independent and efficient general medical clinic;strict general practice clinic system;excellent cooperative integrated services between community and general practice clinic;rigidmedical quality monitoring system and strict,high standards and homogenization GP training system.The service purposes of Britain health insurance system and the core NHS values are similar to health care reformrequirements in China.It is good experiences for currently basic health work in China such as classification treatments,basic initial diagnosis,medical support combined and general practice contract services.After two weeks training,based on the British general practitioner training model and Chinese actual situation,wesuggest that it is necessary to improve general practice care system,develop basic health service system,establish general practitioner “gatekeeper” system,promote classification treatment and two-way referral,advance the general practitioner team servicebuilding and medical modeltransform in community,further train teachers in general practicestandardized training center,integrate social services resources for community health services,increase propaganda and correctly guide people’s medical needs and explore a suitablegeneral practitioners training model for China,and promote the development of general practice.
