Objective To observe effect of perioperative intensive nursing on the patients with esophageal varices(EV) during Endoscopic variceal ligation(EVL),and provide the basis for the optimization and selection of treatment plan for EV.
Methods The perioperative intensive nursing intervention(including preoperative psychological counseling education, intraoperative and postoperative comfort care, music therapy and diet guidance and observation, etc.) were carried out in48 patients with EVLin the hospital from February 2014 to February 2015,as the intervention group;48 cases receiving only routine care (to assist in the improvement of preoperative examination, preparation of medication before operation, and guide the patients to preoperative fasting, drinking, and conventional psychological nursing)were selected as the control group. The EV removal rate, the number of required treatment, and the rate of re-bleeding of both groups were statistically analyzed,as well aspulmonary complications were recorded and compared.
Results The EV removal rate, the number of required treatment, and the rate of re-bleeding in the intervention group were 91.7%(44/48),(2.3±0.7) times and 8.3%(4/48),respectively,whilein the control group were 87.5%(42/48),(3.5±1.1)times and 20.8%(10/48),respectively;the number of required treatment and the rate of re-bleeding were significantly less than the control group(
P<0.05);the incidence of complications in the intervention group was 6.3%(3/48),while in the control group was 25%(12/48),the difference was statistically significant(
P<0.05).
Conclusion The perioperative intensive nursing intervention can effectively reduce the number of EVL surgery in EV patients, improve the treatment effect, and reduce the incidence of complications, which is worthy of further promotion in clinic.
