Objective Tocompared the efficacy of simple periodontal treatment and periodontal orthodontic in the treatment of periodontal disease.
Methods Total 38 cases of periodontal disease patients in our hospital were selected as research subjects,38 patients were first treated with simple periodontal treatment,after the periodontal status entering the stationary phase,thecombined periodontal and orthodontic treatment was performed.The measurement probing depth,crownlength,root length and alveolar bone density were compared before and after simple periodontal treatment and before and after the periodontal orthodontic treatment.
Results The probing depthafter simple periodontal treatment was significantly lower than before the treatment(
P<0.05),the periodontal probing depth after the periodontal orthodontic treatment was significantly lower than before treatment (
P<0.05).The crown length aftersimple periodontal treatment was significantly higher than before(
P<0.05),the crown length after periodontal orthodontic treatment was significantly higher than before(
P<0.05).The root length of after simple periodontal treatment was no difference than before(
P>0.05),the root length after periodontal orthodontic treatment was no difference than before(
P>0.05).The alveolarcrestal bone mineral density aftersimple periodontal treatment was significantly higher than before(
P<0.05),the crestal bone mineral density after periodontal orthodontic treatment was significantly higher than before(
P<0.05).The apical bone mineral density aftersimple periodontal treatment was significantly higher than before(
P<0.05),the apical bone mineral density after periodontal orthodontic treatment was significantly higher than before(
P<0.05).
Conclusion The simple periodontal treatment and periodontal orthodontic treatment for periodontal disease can all improve periodontal condition,increase crown length without increase root length.The simple periodontal treatment can increase the alveolar bone density,but the periodontal orthodontic treatment will reduce alveolar bone density.
