Objective To discuss the therapeutic efficacy of comprehensive rehabilitation treatment on the motor ability and intelligence in children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.
Methods Total 69 children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy in Yuying Children's Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University between January,2012 and January,2014 were enrolled and divided into control group(34 cases) and experimental group(35 cases). The control group received the traditional rehabilitation treatment, while the experimental group received the comprehensive rehabilitation treatment. The changes in the motor ability and intelligence before and after the treatment were compared between the two groups.
Results The motor skills development quotient(DQ) score of the control group was 54.78±27.37,which was obviously lower than (67.24±26.34) the experimental group,
P<0.05.After the treatment, the object, language and human respond skill DQ score of the control group were 54.38±9.23,55.08±9.37 and 53.87±26.12,respectively,which were obviously lower than 67.24±26.34,67.24±26.34 and 66.19±25.54 of the experimental group. The motor ability and intelligence in the experimental group were improved obviously as compared with the control group, the difference was significant,
P<0.05.The rehabilitation effects of the motor ability in children with mild or lighter mental retardation is superior to that in children with moderate, severe and very severe intelligence defects; the rehabilitation effects of intelligence in children with mild or lighter motor skills is superior to that with moderate, severe and very severe motor skill defects. The outcome of children with the initial treatment time less than 6 months was better than those with the initial treatment time more than 6 months.
Conclusion s The comprehensive rehabilitation treatment can effectively improve the motor ability and intelligence of the children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. The early rehabilitation treatment could achieve a better outcome,so the parents of patients should take the children to accept comprehensive rehabilitation treatment as early as possible.
