Objective To investigate the effect of butylphthalide sequential therapy on neurological function, inflammatory factors, and Hcy and NSE levels in patients with acute progressive cerebral infarction.
Methods A total of 86 patients with acute progressive cerebral infarction in our hospital from January,2014 to June,2016 were enrolled and randomly divided into control group (43 cases) and observation group (43 cases). The patients of the control group received anti-platelet therapy, etc.,while the patients of the observation group received conventional therapy and additional butylphthalide sequential therapy. The treatment time was 4 weeks in both groups. The effect of butylphthalide on neurological function, inflammatory factors, and Hcy and NSE levels were compared before and after treatment between the two groups.
Results The NIHSS scores were significantly reduced at 2 and 4 weeks after the treatment in both groups (
P<0.05).The NIHSS scores of both groups were significantly reduced at 4 weeks after the treatment than that at 2 weeks after the treatment (
P<0.05).The NIHSS scores of the observation group were significantly reduced than that in control group after the treatment (
P<0.05);Compared with the levels before the treatment, the serum levels of IL-6 and TNF-α decreased significantly at 4 weeks after the treatment in both groups (
P<0.05),and the serum levels of IL-6 and TNF-α of the observation group decreased more significantly than those in the control group (
P<0.05).Compared with that before treatment, the serum levels of Hcy and NSE decreased significantly at 4 weeks after the treatment in both groups (
P<0.05),and the serum levels of Hcy and NSE of the observation group decreased more significantly than those in the control group (
P<0.05).
Conclusion The butylphthalide sequential therapy can significantly improve neurological function, restrain inflammation, and reduce the levels of Hcy and NSE in patients with acute progressive cerebral infarction.
