Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of ziprasidone on senile organic mental disorders and its effect on glycolipid metabolism, leptin and prolactin.
Methods We selected 170 patients with organic mental disorders as the subjects, and divided them into two groups:the observation group (ziprasidone group) and the control group (Olanzapine group),with 85 cases in each group. The positive and negative symptoms scale scores (PANSS),glycolipid metabolism, leptin and prolactin levels were measured before and after treatment.
Results The total effective rate of the observation group and the control group had no statistically significant difference (
P>0.05).The PANSS scores after treatment of the two groups were lower than those before treatment (
P<0.05),and the PANSS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group after treatment (
P<0.05).After treatment, the body mass index, fasting blood glucose, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, total cholesterol and triglyceride in the control group were higher than those before treatment (
P<0.05).There were no significant differences of body mass index, fasting blood glucose, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, total cholesterol and triglyceride with those before treatment in the observation group (
P>0.05).The body mass index, fasting blood glucose, high density lipoprotein, low density lipoprotein, total cholesterol and triglyceride in the control group were higher than those in the observation group (
P<0.05).After treatment, the level of leptin in the control group was higher than that before treatment (
P<0.05),the level of prolactin was lower than that before treatment (
P>0.05).There was no significant difference of leptin and prolactin in observation group before treatment (
P>0.05).The level of leptin in control group was higher than that in observation group (
P<0.05),and the level of prolactin was lower than that in observation group (
P<0.05).
Conclusion The effect of ziprasidone on the treatment of organic mental disorders in elderly patients is significant, and there is no significant effect on the glycolipid metabolism, leptin and prolactin
