Objective The systemic chemotherapy,as an mainstay of treatment for patients with cancer, can improve the survival rate and quality of life. However, the overall survival rate and quality of life of gastric cancer patients is not satisfactory during the chemotherapy. The patients usually suffer from extreme body and mind pain, particularly the anxiety. This paper investigated the influence of targeted nursing intervention on the anxiety in gastric cancer patients with postoperative chemotherapy,so that improve clinical effectiveness and significantly decline the incidence of complication.
Methods Total 98 gastric cancer patients undergoing postoperative chemotherapy in our hospital from Feb.2014 to Feb.2015 were randomly divided into control and observation group(49 cases in each group) according to the nursing methods, their clinical data were reviewed. The control group was given regular nursing care, while the research group was given targeted nursing interventions based on regular nursing care including the cognitive intervention, dietary intervention, psychological intervention, environmental interventions, exercise intervention and the intervention of daily life. The anxiety score and nursing satisfaction of the two groups were compared based on the follow up results.
Results SAS and HAMA score in both groups were significantly decreased.SAS and HAMA score in the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, there was significant difference between the two groups(
P<0.05).The nursing satisfaction of intervention group was significantly higher than that of the control groups, there was significant difference(
P<0.05).
Conclusion The targeted nursing intervention can effectively relieve the anxiety of gastric cancer patients with postoperative chemotherapy, and improve the nursing satisfaction.
