In 2015, he was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Life Sciences and Medicine Division), director of the Infectious Disease Diagnosis, Treatment and Research Center of the Fifth Medical Center of PLA General Hospital, and the first member of the National Health Science Popularization Expert Database.

He has presided over a number of national major scientific research projects and won 3 second Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress. He has won the National Innovation Prize, National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker, National Advanced Individual in the fight against COVID-19, National Outstanding Communist Party Member, and army Leading science and technology talent.
