  • Objective To explore the effects of early stage functional exercise on rehabilitation of patients affected limb with breast cancer who have accepted modified radical surgery. Methods 40 cases of patients with modified radical mastectomy were admitted to the People's Hospital of Fuyang City from December,2012 to June,2015,and they were divided randomly into two groups according to functional training methods. The control group with 20 cases were given the guidance of regular functional training and psychological intervention. While the observation group with 20 cases were implemented additional early stage functional exercise as well as the guidance of regular functional training and psychological intervention.Patient compliance and the limb shoulder range of motion ROM) were statistically analyzed to evaluate the effects of early stage functional exercise on the patients with breast cancer at the time of one month after the surgeon. Results The control group with 20 cases gain the patient compliance of 85%,and the observation group get the patient compliance of 85%,the difference between these groups have no statistical significance(P>0.05);while there is statistically significant difference between the two groups in the limb shoulder range of motion(P<0.05),19 cases of the observation group reach the standard of the shoulder range of motion (95%),while there are just 14 cases of the control group reaching the standard. It indicates the patients in the observation group gain better recovery than the patients in control group with breast cancer recovery through early stage functional exercise with psychological intervention. Conclusion Early functional exercise on patients with breast cancer who have accepted modified radical mastectomy can significantly promote the functional recovery of patients affected limb.
