Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of China-made septal occluder in the transcatheter closure of congenital heart disease(CHD) in children.
Methods A total of 104 children with congenital heart disease in our hospital from January,2014 to July,2016 were selected for transcatheter closure, including 49 cases of male,55 female, aged from 10 month 5 days to 15 years, mean (3.8±2.9) years, weight from 8.5 to 68 mean (16.25±9.3) kg.All patients were occluded with the China-made septal occluder including 54 patients with ostium secundum atrial septal defect(ASD),21 patents with patent ductus arteriosus(PDA),26 with perimembranous ventricular septal defects(PVSD),1 with muscular ventricular septal defect(MVSD),1 with PVSD combined ASD and 1 ASD combined with PDA.The patients with ASD and VSD were treated with oral aspirin 3-5 mg/(kg·d) for a period of 6 months after the operation(most 100 mg/d).Transthoracic echocardiography(TTE),Chest radiograph and electrocardiograph(ECG) were performed immediately and after the procedure to evaluate the efficiency.Twenty-four hour dynamic ECG was performed after transcatheter closure of VSD.First month, third months, sixth months, and twelfth months and per annum after the operation, the patients were followed up by TTE and ECG.
Results The total of 106 septal occluders had been implanted, while 4 patients implanted with 2 occluders. The incidence of serious complication was 1%,and the other complications were 17 cases. All the patients had no pericardial tamponade,no occluder shift,no hemolysis,no thrombosis or embolism formation.
Conclusion The method to transcatheter closure with China-made septal occluder is safe and effective. The incidence of serious complication is very low.But in the course of treatment should be strictly grasp the indications and contraindications of interventional treatment, postoperative long-term follow-up TTE and ECG.
