Objective To explore the teaching effect of knowledge contest in clinical teaching of otorhinolaryngology head and neck surgery.
Methods Two classes of clinical medicine were randomly selected and grouped:class 1(29 students) with regular teaching and class 2(29 students) with the knowledge contest on the basis of regular teaching.At the end of the semester,we compared the scores of both classes of otorhinolaryngology head and neck surgery,to study how students have mastered the subject and their satisfaction of teaching and so on.
Results Our study shows that most students are in favor of knowledge contest,that knowledge contest helps to improve learning interest and their initiatives,that it helps students to master knowledge and inspire curiosity and improve the spirit of exploration,and that knowledge contest can also improve oral expression and exam preparation.The results show that the class with knowledge contest did significantly better than the class without knowledge contest (
P<0.05).
