Objective To explore the application effect of group counseling combined with peer education in patients with interstitial lung disease.
Methods Altogether 134 cases with interstitial lung disease from March, 2015 to June, 2016 in our hospital were selected and randomly divided into control group and experimental group with 67 cases in each group;the control group was treated with conventional methods of care, including diet and drugs prescribed to care, providing relevant knowledge, and conventional oxygen therapy and respiratory function training; the patients in the experimental group had group psychological counseling combined with peer education based on the control group patients nursing which mainly includes the establishment of group psychological counseling and peer education group, with formal training before the experiment; psychological counseling to patients, monthly "experience exchange meeting " among peer education group to share the experience; after 3 months of nursing, the quality of life, anxiety, and depression status and nursing satisfaction of the two groups were observed and compared.
Results After 3 months of nursing care, SAS, SDS scores of patients in the control group were higher than those in experimental group (
P<0.05); quality of life score in control group was lower than that in the experimental group with statistical significance (
P<0.05); nursing satisfaction of patients in experimental group was 97.01% (65/67), nursing satisfaction of patients in the control group was 79.10% (53/67), thus the experimental group was higher than control group (
χ2=7.332,
P=0.026).
Conclusion Group counseling combined with peer education can improve the quality of life of patients, improve the patient'mental state, and the application effect is significant.
