Objective To observe the application effect of sensory integration training (SID) combined with psychological behavior intervention in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Methods Ninety-six patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder were enrolled in our hospital from September, 2017 to June, 2018. According to the random number table method, 96 patients were divided into observation group and control group with 48 cases in each group, and all patients in both groups were treated with western medicine. The control group used psychological behavior intervention, while the observation group received additional sensory integration training combined with psychological behavior intervention. The sensory integration scores, Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire (PSQ) scores, and visual and auditory attention scores were tested and compared.
Results Before the intervention, there were no statistically significant scores of sensory integration scores and PSQ scores between the two groups (
P>0.05). After 3 months of continuous intervention, the scores of sensory integration in the observation group were all higher than that in the control group, and the scores of PSQ were lower than those of the control group,
P<0.05. The results of attention test showed that the response time (50.83±0.57) s, number of errors (54.32±0.81) and missing number (67.23±0.56) of the observation group were lower as compared with the control group[(55.69±0.46)s, (60.23±0.77), (69.79±0.68, respectively)],
P<0.05.
