Implementation path of cultivating innovative ability of graduate students in key laboratories in the context of new medical science

Postgraduate education is an important part of national education, and medical graduate education affects the promotion and implementation of "Strong Education Country" and "Healthy China" strategies. The new era requires new medical talents, and cultivating high-quality medical talents is one of the important strategies for realizing a healthy China. Graduate medical students are the most important members of research laboratories in medical colleges and universities, and they are an important reserve force of future advanced medical talents. Graduate medical education is of great significance in cultivating high-level innovative medical talents. Research ability and research thinking, as an important part of medical education, are at the root of postgraduate medical education. With the reform of medical education, the mode of medical postgraduate training has also changed. The combination of academic postgraduate training in medicine and standardized residency training is a key element in the reform of medical education in China. Moral development is an important part of medical education, in which research competence is a top priority for graduate education. Innovative research thinking is a fundamental competency necessary for graduate students. Research thinking is ultimately translated into experimental skills to create the desired research results. Strong laboratory skills are the focus of successful graduate student training. Provincial key laboratories play a pivotal role in the training of graduate medical students. However, postgraduate training is facing a widely criticized situation. Therefore, this paper takes provincial key laboratories as the perspective, takes the scientific research and innovation ability of medical postgraduates as the goal, discusses the problems of postgraduates' innovation ability cultivation in key laboratories, and puts forward the implementation path of "establishing postgraduates' cultivation system, practicing scientific research thinking and experimental skills, and improving comprehensive quality". It will improve the training strategy of provincial key laboratories for postgraduate medical students.
