Objective To investigate the curative effect of nasal continuous positive airway pressure(NCPAP) and uvulopalatopharyngoplasty(UPPP) on the quality of life of patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS).
Methods A total of 120 patients with moderate and severe OSAHS patients in our hospital from August 2012 to August 2014 were selected as the research object,according to the treatment measures,they were divided into nCPAP group(treated with nCPAP,
n=60),UPPP group(treated with UPPP,
n=30) and untreated group(
n=30);at the same time,the 30 cases of healthy people were recruited as the control group.The results of polysomnography(PSG) test and Quebec sleep questionnaire(QSQ) were compared among the groups.
Results After the treatment,the apnea hypopnea index(AHI),lowest oxygen saturation(SaO
2),REM sleep,proportion of 3+4 phase and the total score of QSQ in the nCPAP group and UPPP group were better than those before the treatment and those in the control group(
P<0.05);On 18th week,the above indexes of nCPAP group were better than those in UPPP group(
P<0.05).
Conclusion The moderate and severe OSAHS have obvious influence on the quality of life of the patients,NCPAP and UPPP can improve the quality of sleep and quality of life of patients.nCPAP shows more effective in improving the recent quality of life and sleep in patients with OSAHS,this is worthy of attention in clinic.
