Objective To study the curative effect of prednisone combined with Weah dew in the treatment of vitiligo,and evaluate the advantage and application prospects of this regimen.
Methods A total of 48 outpatients(27 male and 25 female) from October 2013 to October 2014 were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups.The treatment group(
n=26) underwent external Weah dew combined with prednisone therapy,while the control group received Weah dew therapy.After 2 months of treatment,leukoplakia subsided area and adverse reactions were observed.The data were statistically analyzed.
Results After 2 months of treatment,the curative rate of the treatment group was 23.1%,effective rate was 88.5%,while in the control group,the curative rate was 7.7%,effective rate was 53.8%.All the data were statistically analyzed.The curative and effective rate in the treatment group was higher than those in the control group.The main adverse reactions were local erythema and mild burning sensation,9 individuals in the control group were found with small blisters form.The incidence of adverse reaction in the treatment group was 57.7%,and in the control group was 80.8%,the incidence of adverse reaction rate in the treatment was much lower than that in the control group.
Conclusion The application of low dose prednisone could lighten the side effect of Weah dew in the treatment of vitiligo,and improve the curative rate.Weah dew combined with prednisone could be a kind of priority treatment method,and should be promoted.
