Objective To study the effectiveness of discharge planning for premature infants in neonatal intensive care unit(NICU) on the parents depression anxiety and physical development of infants within six months.
Methods Total 100 premature infants undergoing treatment in NICU of our hospital were randomly and equally divided into two groups. The control group was given conventional nursing care, while the experimental group received discharge planning for hometransitional care. The nursing effect in both groups was compared.
Results The depression score and anxiety score in the experimental group were obviously lower than that depression score and anxiety score in the control group[(35.8±4.4) scores and (34.1±0.6) scores vs.(42.7±4.8) scores and (46.9±0.8) scores],the difference was statistically significant(
P<0.05).The height of premature infantsat the 3rd and 6th months were(59.8±8.9)cm and (67.5±6.4)cm in the experimental group, which was significantly higher than that [(49.5±9.5)cm and (55.5±5.6)cm] in the control group (
P<0.05).The neonatal weight at 3rd and 6th months were (6.8±1.1)kg and (8.1±1.5)kg in the experimental group, which was significantly higher than that[(5.1±0.8)kg and (6.9±1.3)kg] in the control group(
P<0.05).
Conclusion Discharge planning in NICU shows obvious effect on the transitional care of premature infants, which can improves the anxiety and depression symptoms of parents, promote the physical development of neonates.
