Objective To investigate the clinical effect of orthodontic combined with repair on maxillary anterior dentition defects with malocclusion.
Methods Total 120 patients with maxillary anterior dentition defects with malocclusion in our hospital from January,2013 to December,2015 were randomly divided into two groups by random number method, each group 60 cases.Patients in control group were given repair treatment, and patients in observation group were added orthodontic treatment. After treatment, the dental conditions (occlusion, teeth aligned, front teeth overbite coverage),efficacy, satisfaction, treatment cost, debris index and attachment loss index after 1 year of two groups were accounted.
Results The occlusion, teeth aligned, front teeth overbite coverage of observation group were 80.0%,86.7%,93.3%,which were significantly higher than control group 61.7%,68.3%,75.0%,the differences were statistically significant(
P<0.05).The efficacy rate of observation group(93.3%) was significantly higher than control group(70.0%),the difference was statistically significant(
P<0.05).The treatment satisfaction and treatment cost of observation group were 80.0% and (8 067.6±394.5)yuan,which were significantly higher than control group 43.3% and(2 211.7±251.6)yuan,the differences were statistically significant(
P<0.05).After 1 year, the debris index and attachment loss index of observation group were 0.13±0.08 and 5.16±1.42,which were significantly lower than control group 0.66±0.17 and 6.49±1.63,the differences were statistically significant(
P<0.05).
Conclusion Orthodontic combined with repair can effectively treat patients with maxillary anterior dentition defects with malocclusion, improve the teeth deformity, debris index and attachment loss index with higher satisfaction. But the cost is higher.
